Dr. Soyini Hawkins Georgia Top Doctor 2020

Dr. Soyini Hawkins is a board-certified, fellowship-trained Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeon. She attended undergrad at Xavier University of Louisiana, a master’s program in health systems management at Tulane University, and received her medical degree in Georgia at Morehouse School of Medicine. She completed her Internship and Residency training at the University of Maryland Medical Center Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences as well as a 2-year fellowship program in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and Pelvic Reconstruction at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, MD.  She has a strong interest in laparoscopic surgery and provides specialized surgical management of abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, and most benign gynecologic conditions. 

Humble Beginnings 

Dr. Hawkins was born in the parish of Manchester, Jamaica W.I. to the daughter of a businesswoman and a farmer and the son of a civil engineer. Her parents moved to America to attend college, and to prepare the way for her and her older brother while they were cared for by their grandparents on the island. Dr. Hawkins came to the US when she was four and has been role modeled by the examples of very hardworking and ambitious parents since. 

Patient Care 

With a genuine passion for the physical, emotional, and overall health and wellbeing of women, Dr. Hawkins has dedicated herself to caring for the whole person by creating a partnering relationship with her patients. She strives to assist individuals in making informed health decisions through teaching and ensuring the understanding of one’s health status. Her skillset and style allow patients to become proactive partners in their health care. 

Mother, Wife, Advocate 

Soyini and her husband Osei met and wed in Atlanta, Georgia. They both moved to Baltimore after the wedding where she completed her medical training. They returned to Atlanta in 2014 to raise their two sons near extended family. Dr. Hawkins is active in her church and community as a member of several societies and a participant in numerous outreach endeavors. She is a beloved member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., and Jack and Jill of America, Inc.  

As a fibroid and endometriosis warrior herself, she is passionate not only about treating women but empowering, advocating, and educating the masses to gain a better understanding of female afflictions. She feels her wellness journey is a true testament to life beyond these ailments and encouraged all women to live THEIR best healthy life!

Dr. Ashley Davis Gynecologic Specialist

Dr. Ashley Davis joined the Fibroid and Pelvic Wellness Center in 2020. Her educational background started at Prairie View A&M University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in 2002. She then went on to attend medical school at The University of Tennessee. Upon graduating, Dr. Davis entered the residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, NY. From 2013-2014, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow at MD Anderson ovarian cancer research laboratory. Dr. Davis is not only board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology but has also received a Focused Practice Designation in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Davis’ clinical expertise includes pediatric and adolescent gynecology, prevention and early detection of gynecologic cancers, treatment of uterine fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic pain, and sexual dysfunction in women. She is completing additional training to become skilled in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. This means less pain and a faster recovery for her patients.

Dr. Davis is known by her colleagues for the relationships she builds with her patients, clinical expertise, advanced surgical skills, and providing prompt and detailed consultations. Her patients love her for her effective communication skills, explaining all of their treatment options and guiding them to the right decision. Dr. Davis is also bilingual, speaking English and Spanish, which gives her the unique opportunity to effectively communicate with her patients. Her philosophy is to empower women to understand their bodies, health, and gynecologic conditions, so they can be active participants in their healthcare. ​

​While Dr. Davis’ passion leads her to always put her patients first, she is not all work and no play. Believing in a balanced lifestyle, Dr. Davis is an accomplished athlete having competed in several triathlons and BP MS150 races. Her other hobbies include spending time with her family and traveling with her husband Franklin. Dr. Ashley Davis is a family person, an athlete, a highly credentialed doctor, and a skilled surgeon. But most importantly, she is passionate about the women she has taken an oath to serve.
