Welcome  to the Fibroid and Pelvic Wellness Center of Georgia

Gynecologist in Norcross and Peachtree Corners

Frequently seeing your gynecologist is of vital importance if you are a woman of reproductive age. Having a GYN you can trust is important, as they can help guide you through the challenges that come with menstruation, childbirth, and aging. A gynecology doctor can also refer you for further treatment or evaluation, if necessary.

Fibroids

Fibroids are common in menstruating women – up to 80% of women have fibroids at some stage of their life. While sometimes asymptomatic, fibroids often cause bloating, pelvic pain or pressure, a ‘bulge,’ or prolonged menstruation, often with such heavy bleeding that it causes anemia. For some women, fibroids can cause pain during intercourse. They may also cause reproductive dysfunction, depending on where they are located.

At our locations in Norcross and Peachtree Corners, we can treat common complaints and illnesses of the reproductive system for women. We frequently employ minimally invasive gynecologic surgery as part of our fibroid treatment method. Operating as a gynecologic surgery and fibroids doctor means we frequently see and treat all different kinds of fibroids, specializing in certain forms of treatment.

One of these is robotic myomectomy. This is a type of robotic fibroid removal, which we use to locate and treat your fibroids with great precision. Robotic treatment of fibroids has a very high success rate, and we frequently recommend it to patients to resolve their fibroids once and for all.

Endometriosis

Endometriosis occurs when tissue normally found in a woman’s uterine lining is implanted outside of the uterus. Many patients are asymptomatic but for those that have symptoms, they can be debilitating and affect daily function. Symptoms usually include pain before or during monthly periods, between monthly periods, during or after sex, or when urinating or having a bowel movement (often during monthly periods). Endometriosis can at times also affect fertility.

Specialty Surgeries

Minimally invasive gynecologic surgery (MIGS) is a subspecialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology. It refers to a surgical technique that is performed with the use of cameras used to look either in the abdomen (laparoscopically), through the cervix into the uterus (hysteroscopically), or into the bladder (cystoscopically). The use of these techniques allows complex surgery to be skillfully performed with minimal or no incisions. Even with more traditional surgeries, MIGS trained surgeons use special techniques to aid in recovery.
