Meet Dr. Soyini Hawkins
MD, MPH, FACOG
Dr. Soyini Hawkins is a board-certified gynecology physician and a fellowship-trained minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon.
She founded the Fibroid and Pelvic Wellness Center of Georgia with her husband Osei Hawkins, in the suburbs of Atlanta, GA.
Background & Education
She received a bachelor’s at Xavier University of Louisiana, a Master of Health Systems Management degree at Tulane University, and her MD at the Morehouse School of Medicine in Georgia.
She completed her internship and residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences. Afterward, she also completed a two-year fellowship program in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and pelvic reconstruction at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, MD.
She has a strong interest in laparoscopic surgery and provides specialized surgical management of abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, and most benign gynecologic conditions.
Dr. Hawkins has been featured as a field expert on local and national television, radio, and print, including Good Morning America, MSNBC, Essence, USA Today, and a number of regional news segments.
She enjoys podcasting and speaking as a patient advocate at patient-centered events.
Her influence reaches far beyond the operating room as she is considered an expert in her field and serves as an advisor and national speaker for a variety of industry and pharmacology companies.

Humble Beginnings
Dr. Hawkins was born in the parish of Manchester, Jamaica, W.I., to the daughter of a businesswoman and a farmer and the son of a civil engineer.
While their grandparents raised and cared for them back in Jamaica, her parents moved to America to attend college and prepare the way for her and her older brother. Dr. Hawkins came to the U.S. when she was four, and her hardworking and ambitious parents had a profound influence on her—personally and professionally.

Mother, Wife, Advocate
Dr. Soyini and her husband, Osei, met and married in Atlanta, Georgia. After the wedding, they moved to Baltimore, where she completed her medical training. They returned to Atlanta in 2014 to raise their two sons near extended family.
Dr. Hawkins is active in her church and community. She is a member of several societies and takes part in numerous outreach endeavors. She is a beloved member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
As a fibroid and endometriosis warrior herself, Dr. Hawkins is passionate not only about treating women but also about empowering, advocating, and educating the masses to gain a better understanding of female afflictions. She sees her wellness journey as a true testament to life beyond these ailments and encourages all women to live their best, healthy lives!

I told her I wanted to have kids and she honored that, until it wasn't possible. She then performed the next best minimally invasive surgical process so I could recover promptly and have an overall better health outcome post surgery. I had a total robotic laparoscopic surgery on 3/31 and I'm just realizing how much life she's given me back. Post surgery, she's still been just as amazing. We need to clone and protect her. Nurse practitioner Simpson was so nice and gentle, and she told me that you should never have inflicted pain with papsmears. It was quick, easy, and painless including the bloodwork I got done after. Update :: I saw Dr. Hawkins yesterday for a surgical consult. She was nothing short of brilliant, amazing, kind, practical and down to earth. She spent almost 2 hours with me!
I have seen my fair share of surgeons for my very complex cause of Endo/IC and I can testify that it is extremely rare to find exceptional quality care for excision that is in network with insurance.
I cannot thank Dr. Hawkins and her kind team enough who have treated me as more than just another patient. I am looking forward to my surgery and have full faith Dr. Hawkins and her practice was recommended to me for a reason. I am so grateful!

Real Testimony Time!!!!!!! This group has truly healed and provided me a better quality of life. Unfortunately I have noticed a lot of GYNs today are not being honest with women, mostly “African American” patients, regarding the severity of their fibroids and reproductive health. Some are turning a blind eye to the situation until you are only left to undergo a myomectomy, hysterectomy or uterine ablation. Thankfully I was able to find Fibroid and Pelvic Wellness Center of Georgia and they were ready to help resolve this issue immediately. I was fortunate enough to undergo a Robotic myomectomy, which was a less invasive procedure under a very skilled physician. Special thank you to Dr.De and all staff members that took part in my care. I am so grateful to have found this practice. Dr.De was absolutely amazing.She brought me and my family so much peace and comfort while under her care.She was there to answer any questions I had in a timely manner at all times. The entire team works closely together and are so knowledgeable and confident in helping their patients. Dr.De was very detailed, patient, reassuring and caring. I appreciate this group so much and forever grateful.. I send everyone I know suffering with fibroids to this group.

They were amazing! My last gyno appt was at a different clinic and had left some deep mental scars, so I came here so scared I was about to back out. But the staff and doctors were so amazing and were able to get the procedure done as quickly as possible. She even hugged me when I cried since I had worked myself up to a full panic attack and let me know that there was no rush to leave the room and I could leave when I was ready.
All I can say is if you've previously had a bad experience at another clinic, go here.

Dr.De was amazing
I was referred here by a pelvic pain specialist. After many years of suffering from constant pelvic pain, extreme periods and many other symptoms I have finally gotten relief! I had visited several doctors over the years who disregarded my pain and did not believe me that I thought I may have endometriosis. Dr.De was amazing and diagnosed and excised my endometriosis via laparoscopy. I recovered quickly, and when I had an issue after surgery I was able to talk to her the same day. The office responded to my calls and message quickly and were great to work with.
