Meet Dr. Soyini Hawkins
MD, MPH, FACOG
Dr. Soyini Hawkins is a board-certified gynecology physician and a fellowship-trained minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon.
She founded the Fibroid and Pelvic Wellness Center of Georgia with her husband Osei Hawkins, in the suburbs of Atlanta, GA.
Background & Education
She received a bachelor’s at Xavier University of Louisiana, a Master of Health Systems Management degree at Tulane University, and her MD at the Morehouse School of Medicine in Georgia.
She completed her internship and residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences. Afterward, she also completed a two-year fellowship program in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and pelvic reconstruction at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, MD.
She has a strong interest in laparoscopic surgery and provides specialized surgical management of abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, and most benign gynecologic conditions.
Dr. Hawkins has been featured as a field expert on local and national television, radio, and print, including Good Morning America, MSNBC, Essence, USA Today, and a number of regional news segments.
She enjoys podcasting and speaking as a patient advocate at patient-centered events.
Her influence reaches far beyond the operating room as she is considered an expert in her field and serves as an advisor and national speaker for a variety of industry and pharmacology companies.

Humble Beginnings
Dr. Hawkins was born in the parish of Manchester, Jamaica, W.I., to the daughter of a businesswoman and a farmer and the son of a civil engineer.
While their grandparents raised and cared for them back in Jamaica, her parents moved to America to attend college and prepare the way for her and her older brother. Dr. Hawkins came to the U.S. when she was four, and her hardworking and ambitious parents had a profound influence on her—personally and professionally.

With a genuine passion for women’s physical, emotional, and overall health and well-being, Dr. Hawkins has dedicated herself to caring for the whole person by creating a partnering relationship with her patients.
She strives to assist individuals in making informed health decisions through teaching and ensuring the understanding of one’s health status. Her skill set and style allow patients to become proactive partners in their health care.
Mother, Wife, Advocate
Dr. Soyini and her husband, Osei, met and married in Atlanta, Georgia. After the wedding, they moved to Baltimore, where she completed her medical training. They returned to Atlanta in 2014 to raise their two sons near extended family.
Dr. Hawkins is active in her church and community. She is a member of several societies and takes part in numerous outreach endeavors. She is a beloved member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
As a fibroid and endometriosis warrior herself, Dr. Hawkins is passionate not only about treating women but also about empowering, advocating, and educating the masses to gain a better understanding of female afflictions. She sees her wellness journey as a true testament to life beyond these ailments and encourages all women to live their best, healthy lives!
